The Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly (KoKMA) has reaffirmed its commitment to a digitally inclusive governance strategy as it unveiled a draft of its 2026–2029 Medium-Term Development Plan

Speaking at at a Public Hearing on the Draft 2026 – 2029 Medium – Term Development Plan held at Calvary Baptist Church in Adabraka on Wednesday, May 21, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Alfred Ato Allotey Gaisie highlighted the collaborative efforts that went into drafting the plan, noting that the Technical Planning Team worked extensively with community stakeholders, zonal councils, and strategic partners to identify the municipality’s top development priorities.

“Digitalization remains a cornerstone of our strategy to improve local governance and service delivery. Through e-government platforms and the automation of Internally Generated Fund (IGF) collection systems, we are committed to enhancing efficiency, accountability, and citizen engagement in our municipality,” he said.

The MCE announced that by the end of 2026, KoKMA aims to fully digitize all IGF collection processes. He stressed that this would not only ensure greater transparency but also strengthen the municipality’s revenue mobilization capabilities.

Beyond efficiency, Mr. Gaisie emphasized the importance of digital inclusivity, stating, “Our digital transformation must be inclusive. We are deliberate in our efforts to ensure that marginalized groups, including persons with disability, women, and the urban poor, benefit equitably from these innovations.”

To achieve this, the Assembly plans to invest in digital literacy programs, expand access to internet-enabled service points, and develop user-friendly platforms that are accessible to all community members.

The public hearing forms part of the Assembly’s efforts to engage residents and stakeholders in shaping the municipality’s development agenda for the coming years.

The final Medium-Term Development Plan is expected to guide strategic investment and policy initiatives from 2026 to 2029.
