Officials from the Awutu Senya East Municipality took decisive action today, May 22, 2025, dismantling canopies set up by traders over a traffic light in Kasoa.
The move follows a viral social media footage showing how the traders had covered the traffic signal, which had reportedly been non-functional for seven years.
A concerned resident of Kasoa, speaking to Happy Kaseɛbɔ, highlighted the challenges the broken traffic light has caused to pedestrians and drivers.
While praising the authorities for addressing the canopy issue, he also urged highway officials to repair the traffic light to serve its intended purpose.
