The Ghana Police Service (GPS) has arrested ten individuals for their alleged involvement in cybercrime-related activities during a joint intelligence-led operation at Weija in the Greater Accra Region.
According to an official statement released on Wednesday, May 28, the operation was conducted by the Cybercrime Unit of the Police in collaboration with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
The suspects, identified as foreign nationals from China and Malaysia, are currently in police custody and assisting with investigations.
The raid led to the seizure of a significant number of electronic devices believed to be linked to the illicit activities.
Police confirmed the retrieval of over 800 mobile phones, several computers, and numerous charging devices. All items have been retained for forensic analysis.
Authorities explained the joint effort underscores the commitment of the Ghana Police Service and the GRA to clamp down on cybercrime and other forms of transnational crime in the country.
