The Human Rights Court has dismissed an application by former Finance Minister Kenneth Ofori-Atta that sought to prevent the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) from publicly declaring him wanted.

Ofori-Atta, currently under investigation for alleged financial misconduct during his tenure as Finance Minister argued the move would violate his rights and unfairly influence ongoing proceedings.

In its ruling, the court rejected those claims and imposed a GH¢5,000 cost on Ofori-Atta.

This clears the way for the OSP to issue public notices in its search for him.

The former minister faces multiple investigations, including allegations of procurement irregularities and offshore transactions.

His repeated legal efforts to halt aspects of these probes ranging from attempts to block arrest warrants to challenging OSP actions have so far been unsuccessful.

Ofori-Atta is also the subject of an active Interpol Red Notice, with extradition efforts ongoing to secure his return to Ghana.
