Deputy Chairperson of the Electoral Commission in charge of Corporate Services, Dr. Bossman Asare, has shut down calls for a re-run of the Ablekuma North parliamentary elections.
Six months after the 2024 general polls, the people of Ablekuma North remain without a Member of Parliament, as results from three polling stations are yet to be officially declared.
According to the Commission, records from the affected polling stations have gone missing—and no backup copies are available at the EC.
Attempts to re-collate the results have repeatedly hit a wall, as supporters of both the NPP and NDC disrupted the process each time.
The EC hereby proceeds with the collation of the results dismissing all requests for a re-run of parliamentary elections for the said constituency
