Ghana’s Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has applauded Akosua Mantey Roselyn for her outstanding feat in setting the Guinness World Record for the longest makeup application marathon.
During a courtesy call at the Ministry of Tourism, a delegation from Akosua Mantey’s team was warmly received by the Minister on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. Akosua was declared the Guinness World Record holder, completing the longest continuous makeup session with a remarkable time of 103 hours, 25 minutes, and 33 seconds on July 3, 2024
Commending her for the achievement, Madam Dzifa Gomashie described it as a one-of-a-kind milestone that places Ghana firmly on the global creative map. She emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to supporting such contemporary expressions of the creative arts.
She noted that Creative Arts is gradually adapting to contemporary times becoming a very diverse industry, makeup is set out as a craft worth celebrating. “That’s part of the Ministry’s mission, I must be the bridge between the Agya Koo Nimos and your generation.”
The Minister further encouraged Akosua and other creatives to remain committed to their craft. “The reward for whatever you are doing for yourself that impacts our country positively will soon come. It may not come when you expect it, but it will come,” she encouraged.
