The High Court in Accra has scheduled July 18 to begin the trial of former Director General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB), Kwabena Adu-Boahene, and three others.
They are facing charges over the alleged misappropriation of GH¢49.1 million intended for cybersecurity defence software.
At a recent hearing, the Court rejected a request from the defence team seeking access to national security financial records dating back to 1992, stating the application lacked proper justification. The full ruling will be available for request from Monday, July 7.
Justice John Nyante Nyadu confirmed that all prosecution disclosures have been completed and that the case management conference has ended, paving the way for the trial to proceed in two weeks.
The accused, including Angela Adjei Boateng, Mildred Donkor, and Advantage Solutions Ltd, have all pleaded not guilty to 11 charges, including stealing. They are currently on bail.
The charges stem from allegations that only a portion of a $7 million contract meant for cybersecurity software was paid to the supplier, with the rest allegedly diverted.
The defence also requested disclosure of special accounts managed by past and current National Security Coordinators, which was denied.
