Over 16,000 government services will soon move online through the upgraded Ghana.Gov platform, according to the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George.

Addressing journalists at a media briefing on Thursday, July 3, the Minister announced that the Ministry, in partnership with the National Information Technology Agency (NITA), is developing a redesigned platform to simplify how citizens access public services.

Sam George explained that the new system will provide faster access, fully integrate the Ghana Card, and offer a more user-friendly interface for both individuals and businesses.

He emphasized that the platform aims to eliminate physical barriers, enhance transparency, and make services more reliable and accessible to everyone.

“We are placing 16,000 government services on the platform,” he stated, highlighting the government’s commitment to digital transformation.

The Minister also responded to public concerns about digital rights. He assured Ghanaians that the government will continue to protect free speech even as it builds a stronger digital infrastructure.

He further revealed that the National Misinformation and Disinformation Bill has reached its final stage and will soon head to Parliament. According to him, the bill targets the deliberate spread of false information while safeguarding the right to free expression.
