The High Court has directed Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, widely known as Nana “Agradaa”, to open her defense in a case involving the alleged non-consensual sharing of nude images of Prophet Emmanuel Appiah Fomum.

Nana Agradaa, founder of Heaven Way Champions International Ministry and a former fetish priestess turned evangelist, is facing four charges—one count of possession of obscene material and three counts of non-consensual distribution of intimate images.

On Monday, July 7, presiding judge Mary Ekue Yanzuh dismissed a “submission of no case” application filed by Agradaa’s legal team and instructed that she must begin her defense.

Agradaa’s lawyers, led by Richard Baffour, notified the court that she was in custody and pleaded for an order to have her brought to court for the ruling. However, Justice Yanzuh denied the request and proceeded to deliver the ruling in her absence.

“My prayer is that your ruling can be delivered in her presence. We pray for an adjournment and an order for her to be brought to court,” Baffour appealed.

Justice Yanzuh further directed the defense to file their witness statements and ordered prison officers to ensure Nana Agradaa is present in court on the next hearing date.

The case has been adjourned to July 30, 2025, for a case management conference.

Three other individuals—Enoch Owusu Kissi, Charles Omane, and Emmanuel Kofi Gyasi—who are also facing charges of abetment in the alleged distribution of the nude images, have similarly been ordered to open their defense.

According to the prosecution, the incident occurred in 2021 when Nana Agradaa, then operating Thunder TV (now Today’s TV), allegedly broadcast nude images of Prophet Fomum. She is also accused of using the photos as a label for an alcoholic beverage that was promoted on her TV platform.
