The Ashanti Region has seen a significant reduction in fire outbreak cases in the first quarter of 2025.
Data from the Ghana National Fire Service reveals that the region recorded 586 fire incidents between January and March 2025, compared to 656 cases during the same period in 2024. This marks a 10.5 percent decrease.
The Public Relations Officer for the Ashanti Regional Fire Command, DOII Peter Addai, attributed the reduction to intensified public education and awareness campaigns carried out by the service.
He noted that the service’s continuous engagement with communities, market women, institutions, and the general public has played a critical role in reducing fire-related incidents.
