The Amasaman High Court has denied a bail request from lawyers representing controversial evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, pending the outcome of her appeal.

The Amasaman High Court has refused the bail request as Agradaa awaits a decision on her appeal.

Her lawyer, Dr. Bernard Kofi Asamoah, confirmed the court’s decision in an interview today, Tuesday, July 15. He said the court directed the Circuit Court to submit all relevant documents relating to the ongoing appeal.

Nana Agradaa’s legal team filed the appeal after the Circuit Court sentenced her to 15 years in prison on July 3. The court, presided over by Justice Evelyn Asamoah, found her guilty of defrauding by false pretence and promoting charlatanic practices.

Lead counsel Richard Asare Baffour filed a notice of appeal and a petition to overturn both the conviction and the sentence.

Despite today’s setback, her lawyers say they remain focused on pursuing the case through the legal system.

Nana Agradaa remains in custody as the appeal process continues.
