The Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued a disclaimer, cautioning the general public against circulating fake recruitment advertisements and appointment letters purported to be from the Service.

In a statement issued and signed by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, the GES noted that although the Honourable Minister for Education has indeed announced in Parliament that GES will recruit 50,000 teachers and 10,000 non-teaching staff, the official recruitment process is yet to begin.

GES emphasized that all its recruitment exercises are completely free, and no individual or group is authorized to demand any form of payment for recruitment, processing, or the issuance of appointment letters.

“The general public is hereby cautioned that the appointment letters being issued to some persons, and advertisements on recruitment into the service circulating on social media, are fake,” the statement read.

The Service warned that these fraudulent activities are aimed at exploiting unsuspecting applicants and urged the public to disregard them.

GES is urging the public to report anyone or any group involved in such scams to the nearest police station for swift action.

GES advised all prospective applicants and stakeholders to rely solely on official communication from the Service via its website and other credible national media outlets.

The Service assures the public that once the official recruitment begins, it will be announced widely through appropriate channels.
