Vice President, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has urged African political leaders to always put the interests of their people first.
Opening the 2025 Africa Political Parties Summit in Accra, she stressed that citizens expect leaders to go beyond election campaigns and focus on responsible governance that improves livelihoods.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also appealed to political parties across the continent to treat each other as partners in peace and development, not as enemies.
The Vice President said true leadership means listening to citizens, addressing their needs, and building partnerships that unite rather than divide the continent.
The summit brings together political parties from across Africa to share ideas, strengthen democratic values, and promote sustainable development.
