The Bolgatanga Technical Institute (BOTECH) has been shut down indefinitely following a violent student riot that left the school’s library and senior housemaster’s office in flames.
The disturbances began late Thursday, August 14, and continued into the early hours of Friday, August 15.
No injuries were reported, but the full extent of the damage is still being assessed.
“The closure is to protect students, staff, and property while investigations are carried out,”.
Meanwhile, Police and school authorities are yet to release an official statement on the cause of the unrest.
