The Electoral Commission will begin printing ballot papers tomorrow, Wednesday, August 20, for the Akwatia parliamentary by-election.

The Commission’s Director of Electoral Services, Benjamin Bano-Bioh, confirmed the move after a crucial meeting in Accra today. He said procurement is complete, and all election materials are ready.

The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohonnoh, earlier met with representatives of political parties to outline security arrangements and measures to prevent violence during the polls.

The by-election follows the death of Akwatia MP, Ernest Yaw Kumi of the New Patriotic Party, in July this year.

Benjamin Bano-Bioh assured that the Commission stands ready to deliver a credible election and urged political parties to play by the rules.
