Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has announced a new policy that will hold ambassadors and diplomats accountable through performance targets focused on economic diplomacy.
Speaking at the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD-9), Ablakwa revealed that President John Dramani Mahama will officially launch the framework on September 1.
“For the first time in our history, the President will be launching key performance indicators (KPIs) for all ambassadors and diplomats. This has never happened in our history.”
The KPIs will prioritize attracting investment, boosting trade, and delivering measurable improvements to the lives of Ghanaians.
“Our diplomacy must lead to improvements in the lives of people. Diplomacy must promote investment and create a safe haven for those who invest in our country.”
