The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has formally petitioned the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to demand the immediate arrest of Chief Sofo Azorka, National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Vice Chairman, the party’s Abuakwa North Constituency Communication Officer, Abdul Wahab, and other unidentified individuals captured in a video assaulting NPP’s Third Vice Chairman, Alhaji Masawudu Usman, during the Akwatia by-election.
According to the NPP, Chief Azorka and Abdul Wahab not only assaulted party officials but also issued threats of violence. Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin is among those allegedly targeted during the polls.
The NPP’s Director of Communications, Richard Ahiagbah, addressed the media today, September 5th after submitting the petition to the IGP.
