Black Stars coach Otto Addo says he remains unfazed by criticism of his record and is not worried about the possibility of losing his job as Ghana gear up to face Mali in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Since returning for his second spell, Addo’s record stands at 15 matches with 5 wins, 5 draws, and 5 defeats. His team has scored 27 goals, conceded 18, and managed only 4 clean sheets, a 33.3% win rate on paper.

But the coach insists numbers don’t paint the full picture, pointing instead to Ghana’s position at the top of Group I.
“These statistics of my wins and losses are of no use. I’m not afraid of anything, not even getting sacked. We are still on top of Group I, so nothing has changed,” he said confidently.

Addo further stressed that Ghana will treat every fixture with seriousness.

“Game by game, there will be no underrating of any team moving forward,” he added.

With qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup on the line, the clash against Mali promises to be a stern test.

Ghana may be leading Group I with 16 points, but the Black Stars face stiff competition from Comoros on 15 points, Madagascar on 13, and Mali close behind with 12
