The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF), Nana Dwemoh Benneh, has underscored the Fund’s commitment to promoting sustainable and climate-resilient infrastructure as Ghana positions itself for long-term growth and regional integration.

Speaking at the International Building, Infrastructure and Investment Expo 2025 on Friday, September 12 at the Accra International Conference Centre, Mr. Benneh highlighted GIIF’s decade-long role in bridging Ghana’s infrastructure financing gaps.

“Over the last 10 years, GIIF has successfully set up a number of self-financing projects to meet the country’s infrastructure needs. Going forward, we are focusing on opportunities that are sustainable and resilient,” he stated.

Mr. Benneh noted that infrastructure financing today goes beyond technical capacity to include ethics, sustainability, and climate resilience.

He stressed the importance of platforms such as the Expo, which bring together industry players, policymakers, and financiers to address these critical considerations.

“Ghana has come of age, we must begin to raise more local funding for our infrastructure projects, because the more we raise internally, the better positioned we are to attract external financing,” he added.

He further expressed GIIF’s pride in sponsoring the Expo, describing it as a valuable forum to showcase technical expertise, foster collaboration, and deliberate on financing models that can support Ghana’s development agenda.
