A new survey by Global InfoAnalytics has placed Education Minister, Haruna Iddrisu as the leading choice among voters for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) leadership going into the 2028 general elections.
According to the poll, Mr. Iddrisu secured 29.8% of voter preference, putting him ahead of NDC National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, who garnered 24.1%. Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, followed closely in third place with 18.4%.
Other names featured in the survey include Chief of Staff Julius Debrah (10.3%), North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (8.1%), and Asunafo South MP Eric Opoku (2.5%). Prof. Joshua Alabi recorded 2.2%, while Minister for Lands and Natural Resources Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah secured 2.0%.
Additional figures in the poll were Kwame Awuah Darko (1.6%), Dr. Spio Garbrah (1.1%), and Okoe Vanderpuye (0.1%).
The results suggest a competitive race for the future leadership of the NDC, with Haruna Iddrisu emerging as the frontrunner but facing strong competition from Asiedu Nketia and Dr. Ato Forson.
Global InfoAnalytics noted that the survey reflects current voter sentiments but emphasized that political dynamics could shift as the 2028 elections draw closer.
