The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has summoned the Member of Parliament for Chiana-Paga, Nikyema Billa Alamzy, to appear before its Functional Executive Committee (FEC) over remarks he allegedly made questioning the party’s leadership.
In a letter signed by the party’s Director of Administration, Emmanuel Zumakpeh, FEC said its attention had been drawn to a widely circulated video in which the MP was heard questioning the rationale behind the “thank you tour” being undertaken by the party’s leadership in his constituency.
The statement noted that Mr. Alamzy also made other comments that did not sit well with the party’s leadership, hence the decision to invite him for clarification and further explanation.
The MP is scheduled to appear before the committee on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the party’s headquarters in Adabraka, Accra.
The NDC, in its letter, also copied the Regional Chairman of the party in the Upper East Region, the Constituency Chairman of Chiana-Paga, and the Majority Leader in Parliament, inviting the Regional Chairman to accompany the MP to the meeting.
