President John Dramani Mahama has commissioned Ghana’s newly appointed ambassadors and high commissioners at an official ceremony held at the Office of the President.
The event, attended by senior state officials and public servants, formally ushered the envoys into their new diplomatic assignments.
Addressing the gathering, President Mahama urged the appointees to uphold Ghana’s values and represent the nation with integrity.
“I congratulate each and every one of you on your well-deserved appointment. Your selection as ambassadors and high commissioners is no coincidence. It reflects years of dedicated service, discipline, and the confidence the state places in you to represent Ghana in your respective roles,” he said.
The President emphasized that accountability would be central to their service, noting that their work would be guided by Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
“These KPIs are not merely bureaucratic checklists; they serve as tools for transformation. Their purpose is to ensure that each handshake, each negotiation, and each agreement you engage in delivers real benefits for the people of Ghana,” he added.
He further encouraged the envoys to pursue initiatives that will enhance Ghana’s global standing and ensure that all diplomatic efforts reflect the collective interest of Ghanaians.
