The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kwahu West, Tamimu Halidu, has dismissed claims suggesting that the Member of Parliament for Abetifi, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, was prevented from constructing the Nkawkaw Sports Stadium.

Speaking at a recent town hall meeting in Nkawkaw, Mr. Tamimu Halidu addressed rumours circulating in the public domain, particularly claims that the abandonment of the stadium project was due to comments made by some NDC party executives.

He clarified that no one, including himself or any members of the NDC, has obstructed Dr. Acheampong’s efforts to complete the project. According to the MCE, Dr. Acheampong was only asked to submit a formal proposal detailing his intentions regarding the stadium’s completion.

The stadium project was originally awarded to a contractor under the previous administration but was left unfinished. Dr. Acheampong later volunteered to take over and complete it at no cost to the state. However, the contractor reportedly abandoned the site, which stalled progress.

Tamimu Halidu reaffirmed that the assembly remains committed to seeing the stadium completed and encouraged residents to remain patient as steps are taken to revive the project and others within the municipality.
