GNPC Ghana's Fastest Human- Ashanti Region dominates in Tamale

Athletes from schools in the Ashanti, dominated the GNPC Ghana Fastest Human at the Tamale Sports Stadium over the weekend.
The event, which was primarily staged for athletes in the three regions in the northern zone, was however opened to all.
Martinson Yeboah from Kumasi Anglican Secondary High School scooped the first position in the Under-18 Boys category with a time of 10.58s while Prempeh College’s Samuel Kwabi came second with a time of 10.66s with Gabriel Gyamfi from Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School (OKESS) with a time of 10.77 to place third.
In the female Under-18 category, Barikisu Issahuka from Tamale Secondary School clocked a time of 11.98s to beat OKESS’s Emmanuella Boakye who came second with a time of 12.62s in the 100m. Afriyie T.I Ahmadiyia SHS (AMASS) came third with a time of 12.69s.
Staged in the presence of Minory Leader Hon. Haruna Iddrissu, the boys from Ashanti Region again swept the Under-15 category which saw Forkuo Paul of Tafo JHS winning the 100m race.
In the female seniors’ category, Lariba Sakat from Upper East clocked 12.84s to swoop the 100m.
Desmond Aryee of the University of Ghana and Charles Okyere from the Ashanti Region couldn’t be separated as they both came up joint winners in the male’s senior event with a time of 10.42s in the 100m while Salifu Garafu with a time of 10.50s.
The next GNPC Ghana’s Fastest Human is slated for Accra in June.
