The Paramount Chief of the Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area in the Eastern Region, Oseadieyo Dr. Frimpong Manso IV, has called on Ghanaian teachers to actively promote agribusiness opportunities among students. He emphasized the critical need for young people to view agriculture not just as a traditional livelihood but as a sustainable and rewarding career path.

Speaking at the 65th anniversary and homecoming of Oda Senior High School (ODASCO), the Omanhene underscored agriculture’s pivotal role in national development, describing it as the backbone of Ghana’s economy. He urged teachers to help students recognize the vast potential within the agricultural sector, particularly through agribusiness, to secure the future of the industry and contribute meaningfully to the economy.

Meanwhile, the Headmaster of ODASCO, Eric Amoah, made a heartfelt appeal for infrastructure support. He called on the government and philanthropic organizations to assist in the rehabilitation of aging school buildings, the expansion of classroom facilities, and the provision of essential resources such as desks, library books, and an ICT center. These interventions, he said, are critical to enhancing the teaching and learning environment at the school.
