The interim National Chairman of the United Party, Alhaji Abubakar Siddique Boniface, has expressed his disappointment with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over his expulsion in 2024.

Speaking on Happy 98.9 FM’s Epa Hoa Daben show with Bismark Brown, Alhaji Boniface revealed that the NPP terminated his membership, along with others, for joining the camp of the Movement for Change led by Alan Kyerematen.

“I was sacked by the NPP for following Alan Kyerematen, but later on I realized that the termination of my membership was not based on fairness. As for me, before I decide to follow someone, I make sure I do my background checks and Alan Kyerematen is a very good gentleman,” he said.

He also cited incidents of violence against delegates who supported Alan Kyerematen during the NPP flagbearer race ahead of the 2024 elections, describing it as a reflection of growing intolerance within the party.

“In conflict resolution, you don’t become oppressive. You don’t just sack people abruptly. You first engage and dialogue; if that fails, you explore other ways to resolve the issue. That is not the best way to lead,” he added.

Alhaji Boniface now serves as the interim national Chairman of the United Party, led by Alan Kyerematen, marking his next political chapter following his exit from the NPP.
