The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) have arrested a soldier captured in a viral video assaulting two civilians, a pharmacy attendant and a female customer at Burma Camp in Accra.

In a statement issued and signed by Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin, Acting Director General of Public Relations of the Ghana Armed Forces on Thursday, October 30, 2025, the incident occurred on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, and was widely circulated on social media.

The statement said the arrest was carried out at dawn by personnel of the Ghana Military Police, and the suspect is currently assisting with investigations.

The victims have reportedly received medical treatment and are also cooperating with investigators.

“The Armed Forces assures the general public that it will not condone any acts of assault on civilians and will not shield any soldier engaged in such,” the statement emphasized.

GAF reaffirmed the military’s commitment to upholding discipline and ensuring accountability among its personnel.

The Ghana Armed Forces also appealed to the public and the media to support ongoing investigations while assuring that justice will be served in accordance with military and civil law.
