The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has announced a postponement in the expected arraignment of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta and seven others over the controversial Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML) deal, after the High Court failed to sit on Monday, November 24, 2025.

The eight were scheduled to appear before the Criminal Division of the High Court to face a total of 78 charges, including conspiracy to influence the procurement process, breaches of the Public Procurement Act, and alleged unlawful contract awards.

However, the sitting did not take place.

In a notice posted on its official Facebook page, the OSP stated: “CR/0106/2026 Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta & 7 Ors.
This case has been adjourned as the Court would not sit on the originally scheduled date of 24 November 2025.
A new date would be communicated to the Republic and the Accused Persons.”

The postponement means the long-awaited courtroom proceedings in one of Ghana’s most notable procurement and tax technology scandals will now take place at a later date, yet to be communicated by the court.

The accused persons include former GRA Commissioners-General Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah and Emmanuel Kofi Nti; senior GRA officials Isaac Crentsil and Kwadwo Damoa; former Finance Ministry Technical Advisor Ernest Akore; SML owner Evans Adusei; and Strategic Mobilisation Limited itself.

They are accused of causing financial loss to the state through procurement and revenue monitoring contracts allegedly awarded outside legal procedures.
