The Ghana Police Service has dismissed widespread speculation claiming that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has passed away.
In a statement issued by the Police Secretary on Sunday, November 30, the Service described the reports as false, malicious, and reckless.
According to the statement, the IGP is alive, well, and actively performing his official duties. The police urged officers, family members, loved ones, and the general public to completely disregard the circulating rumours.
The Service further cautioned individuals responsible for spreading the misinformation, stressing that such conduct constitutes an offence.
It warned that anyone found to be behind the disinformation would face the full rigour of the law.
The Police Service emphasized its commitment to transparency and encouraged the public to rely on verified information from official channels.
