The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has announced fresh commitments toward deepening Ghana–Algeria relations following a meeting between the Acting Chief Director, Ambassador Khadija Iddrisu, and the Algerian Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Mourad Louhaidia.

The meeting, held at the Ministry and reported on its official Facebook page, focused on revitalising bilateral cooperation through a more structured mechanism such as the Permanent Joint Commission for Cooperation (PJCC).

Ambassador Iddrisu stressed that the PJCC remains a key platform for driving meaningful collaboration that delivers tangible development outcomes for both nations.

Ambassador Louhaidia reaffirmed Algeria’s commitment to expanding cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, and industrial partnerships, noting that such efforts would support shared national development objectives.

He also indicated Algeria’s willingness to broaden existing academic exchange programmes and increase the number of beneficiaries from both countries.

Ambassador Iddrisu, in response, expressed Ghana’s readiness to pursue partnerships that yield practical results and enhance national development, highlighting the important role of the PJCC in facilitating such engagements.

Both sides agreed to work toward convening the next session of the Permanent Joint Commission for Cooperation and renewed their commitment to strengthening ties between the two nations.
