The Acting Minister for Defence, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has commended officers and men of Ghana’s joint security services for their discipline, endurance and unity following a joint route march through the principal streets of Accra.

The exercise brought together personnel from the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Immigration Service, Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, and the Ghana Prisons Service.

Addressing the officers during a debriefing session after the march on Tuesday, December 23, Ato Forson described the exercise as more than a physical activity, saying it symbolised unity, cooperation and a shared purpose among the country’s security agencies.

“In today’s complex security environment, no single service can stand alone. The safety and stability of our dear nation depend on cooperation, mutual trust and close collaboration among all security agencies,” he stated.

According to the Acting Defence Minister, the joint route march demonstrated the spirit of comradeship and inter-agency coordination that is urgently needed to safeguard national security.

Ato Forson expressed particular appreciation to the heads of the various security services who participated in the exercise, noting that their presence sent a strong message of leadership, unity of command and collective responsibility to both officers and the general public.

He conveyed the gratitude of President John Dramani Mahama and the Government of Ghana to the security personnel for their dedication, sacrifice and professionalism, describing their service as vital to maintaining public confidence and national stability.

“Your unwavering loyalty to the state strengthens public trust and reinforces Ghana’s reputation as a beacon of peace and stability in the sub-region,” he said.

Ato Forson invoked blessings on the officers, praying for their protection and renewed strength as they continue to discharge their duties in service to the nation.
