The Techiman North District Security Council (DISEC) has imposed a ban on the use of knockouts and fireworks in Tuobodom during the festive season as part of measures to maintain peace and security in the area.

In a statement issued and signed by the District Chief Executive for Techiman North, Johnson Kwabena Adom, DISEC said the decision was taken at a meeting held on Monday, December 22, to deliberate on security arrangements ahead of the Christmas and New Year festivities.

According to the statement, the council discussed the “volatile nature of security in Tuobodom” and examined measures to prevent any form of tension in the township.

The use of knockouts and fireworks was identified as a potential trigger for unrest, prompting the council to resolve that the use of knockout during the festive season should be banned in Tuobodom.

DISEC explained that the announcement was necessary to caution the general public against the use of knockouts and fireworks, noting that such activities pose security threats that could disturb the peace in the community.

The council has therefore called on residents and the general public to cooperate fully with DISEC to ensure calm and security in Tuobodom throughout the festive period.
