DSTV enhanced value packages remain in force – NCA

The National Communications Authority (NCA) has announced that the enhanced value packages introduced by DSTV for subscribers in Ghana remain in force following ongoing engagements by the Stakeholder Committee on DSTV pricing.

In a statement issued on December 31, 2025, the NCA said the committee, chaired by the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, continued its work even after the October 1, 2025 implementation of the revised DSTV value offerings.

According to the Authority, the committee observed that the enhanced value packages were duly implemented as announced, adding that the changes have been positively received by subscribers.

The NCA noted that the improved offerings have resulted in a significant increase in DSTV subscriptions across the country.

The Stakeholder Committee, made up of representatives from the Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations (MoCDTI), the NCA, and MultiChoice, is also collaborating with other state agencies, including the Cyber Security Authority, to address internet streaming piracy of pay-TV content.

The NCA explained that illegal streaming poses serious challenges, including loss of tax revenue, reduced earnings for the creative industry, and heightened security risks to consumers through exposure to malware and phishing schemes.

The Authority further assured that the working group will continue its engagements to ensure that all agreed objectives and commitments are fully achieved in the interest of consumers, industry players, and the state.
