President John Dramani Mahama has urged Ghanaians to embrace unity, patriotism, and a shared sense of national purpose as the country enters the new year, stressing that collective effort is key to building a stronger and more prosperous nation.

In his New Year message delivered on January 1, President Mahama emphasised the need for citizens to rise above partisan, ethnic, and social differences in order to advance Ghana’s development agenda.

He described national unity as the foundation for sustainable progress, calling on Ghanaians to see themselves as “one people with a shared destiny.”

The President outlined a vision of a Ghana where equal opportunities are available to all, hard work is fairly rewarded, and integrity remains a core national value. According to him, these principles are essential for restoring public confidence, strengthening institutions, and accelerating socio-economic growth.

President Mahama further encouraged citizens to play active roles in nation-building, noting that the government alone cannot deliver development without the commitment and cooperation of the people.

“As we move forward together, our collective resolve, discipline, and love for the country will determine how far we go,” he said, expressing optimism that 2026 would mark a turning point toward a brighter future for all Ghanaians.

The New Year address forms part of President Mahama’s broader call for national renewal, as he seeks to rally public support around shared values of unity, accountability, and inclusive development.
