President John Dramani Mahama has reflected on his administration’s first year in office, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve the people of Ghana at a non-denominational thanksgiving service held at the Jubilee House.

In his address, President Mahama recalled the mandate given to his government a year ago, describing it as a solemn responsibility entrusted to his administration during a challenging period in the nation’s history. “One year ago, the people of Ghana entrusted this administration with a sacred responsibility to lead our nation through a difficult period, to restore hope, to stabilize our economy, and to reset the direction of our national development,” he said.

The President stressed that the occasion was not meant to celebrate political power, but to give thanks for the privilege of national service. “Today is not a declaration of triumph; it is a reaffirmation of purpose,” he added.

President Mahama acknowledged the challenges confronting the country, including economic difficulties, social anxiety, and uncertainties in the global environment.

Despite these challenges, he praised the resilience of the Ghanaian people, noting that the nation has remained stable.

“And yet through it all, God has stood by us. Our democracy has remained strong, our institutions have held their own, and our people have shown resilience, patience, and faith in the future of our beloved nation,” the President stated.

He also expressed appreciation to the Ghanaian people, religious leaders, traditional authorities, and international partners for their support and contributions to national development over the past year.
“We give thanks for life, we give thanks for peace, and we give thanks for the opportunity to serve,” President Mahama said, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to serving the people of Ghana.
