The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Ghana has emphasized its firm commitment to political neutrality, stressing that it does not endorse, support, or align with any political party or candidate.

In an official statement issued and signed by the Communication Department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Ghana, the Church clarified that while it welcomes all individuals to worship and receive prayer regardless of their political affiliation, it remains strictly non-partisan in its operations and activities.

The clarification follows public interpretations of a recent prayer offered for Kennedy Agyapong during a visit to one of the Church’s events, which some perceived as a political endorsement.

The Church explained that the prayer was pastoral in nature and should not be construed as reflecting an official political position.

“The sentiments expressed in that prayer were pastoral in nature and do not represent an official position of the Church,” the statement noted.

The Church further emphasized that it does not participate in partisan politics and cautioned political actors and their supporters against using its platforms, messages, or worship experiences for political purposes.

Reaffirming its broader mission, the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Ghana said it remains committed to serving as a spiritual home for all Ghanaians and upholding values of peace, integrity, and unity.
