The semi-final line-up for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 has been finalized, with Africa’s football powerhouses standing tall after a pulsating quarter-final weekend packed with goals, tension, and drama.

Egypt, Nigeria, Morocco, and Senegal secured their spots in the final four by Saturday night. Hosts Morocco will lock horns with star-studded Nigeria, while Senegal first to clinch qualification, will battle Egypt. Both semi-final clashes are set for Wednesday, January 14.

Seven-time champions Egypt claimed the last semi-final berth with a thrilling 3-2 victory over defending champions Côte d’Ivoire, ending the Elephants’ title reign and setting up a blockbuster meeting with Senegal. The Teranga Lions had earlier edged Mali 1-0, thanks to Iliman Ndiaye’s decisive first-half strike in a tense West African derby that showcased their tactical discipline and experience.

Morocco, aiming for their first continental crown in half a century, continued their strong home form with a confident 2-0 win over Cameroon in Rabat. Brahim Diaz and Ismaël Saibari were on target as the Atlas Lions impressed once again with a blend of attacking flair and defensive solidity.

Nigeria completed the semi-final cast with a commanding 2-0 triumph over Algeria in Marrakech. Victor Osimhen opened the scoring before Akor Adams sealed the result late on, earning the Super Eagles a high-profile showdown with the hosts.

With the AFCON now entering its decisive stage, the margins are thinner than ever, where pedigree, composure, and experience are proving decisive. The tournament’s climax awaits in Rabat on Saturday, January 18, when Africa’s new champion will be crowned.
