The Kwabre East Member of Parliament, Akwasi Gyamfi Onyina-Acheampong has thrown his weight behind Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as a visionary leader poised to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to victory in the 2028 general elections.

This endorsement comes as the NPP prepares for its presidential primaries on January 31, 2026.

The MP praised Dr. Bawumia’s leadership and national vision, citing his commitment to the people and ability to unite the party.

“Dr. Bawumia has personally visited the constituency on several occasions, demonstrating his genuine connection with our community,” he said.

The MP’s endorsement is not an isolated incident, as Dr. Bawumia has received widespread support from various regions, including the Central and Eastern Regions.

The NPP’s presidential primaries are scheduled for January 31, 2026, with several high-profile aspirants vying for the party’s flagbearership. Dr. Bawumia faces competition from Kennedy Agyapong, Bryan Acheampong, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum and Kwabena Agyei Agyapong.
