President John Dramani Mahama has set the end of 2027 as the deadline for the completion of the Jinijini–Sampa Road project in the Berekum West District.

The Jinijini–Sampa Road has for years remained a key concern for residents, slowing down trade, increasing transportation costs, limiting access to essential services and ultimately affecting livelihoods and overall living conditions in the area.

The President gave the assurance during an inspection of the 80-kilometre stretch as part of his nationwide “Resetting Ghana Tour,” aimed at monitoring key infrastructure projects and engaging directly with citizens.

A statement shared by the official social media page of the Presidency revealed that the president ignited dialogue between traditional authorities, including chiefs and queen mothers, as well as residents of the area, acknowledging the longstanding challenges associated with the project and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to delivering it to full asphalt standard.

He stressed that road infrastructure remains critical to national development, noting that improved road networks will enhance trade, ease movement and support economic growth across regions.

President Mahama further assured residents that efforts are underway to ensure timely execution, emphasising that the Jinijini–Sampa Road will be completed by the close of 2027.

The inspection also formed part of broader engagements with local communities, where the President received feedback on the project’s impact and reiterated his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability and inclusive governance.
