ALCOHOLIC and Non-Alcoholic Beverage Company, TT Brothers Limited, has presented a cheque for GH¢20,000 to the National Armwrestling Team – Golden Arms – after their splendid performance in Nigeria.
The team led by President of the Ghana Armwrestling Federation (GAF), Charles Osei Asibey, paid a courtesy call on the company last Friday to express their appreciation to the management of the company for their support in their participation towards the Africa Armwrestling Championship held in Lagos, Nigeria.
Ghana won 22 medals in all after the competition – 10 gold medals, six silver medals and six bronze medals.
The Managing Director of T. T. Brothers, Mr Isaac Tetteh, on behalf of the board, congratulated the athletes, coaches and management team for doing so well in raising the Ghana flag high in the Africa Armwrestling Championships.
“You have sold Ghana to the world. It is not only football that can sell Ghana so that alone, is a very good sign for all of us. You have been able to sell Ghana to the extent that you will host the 2018 edition, and I am, particularly excited about this development.
“To help you prepare for your next assignment, I am donating GH¢20,000 to you – GH¢18,000 to the athletes and the management team and GH¢2,000 into the coffers of the Federation.
“At least each of you have GH¢1,000 to buy your medications and supplement to start your preparation towards 2018 Africa Armwrestling Championships that we will be hosting it”.
The President of the Association thanked the company and assured them that his Federation would put up a good show and also host and win the Africa Championship next year.
He also called on other corporate bodies to come on board as they have already begun putting measures in place for a successful event next year.
