WAEC to release 2025 BECE private candidate results today The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that results for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for private candidates will be released by the end of today, Friday, September 5. Speaking at a media briefing, WAEC’s Public Relations Officer, John Kapi, confirmed the release timeline and shared key statistics. “A total of 1,661 private candidates, 858 males and 803 females, registered for this year’s BECE. This marks a 19.49% increase compared to last year,” he stated. According to John Kapi, the provisional results for school candidates were released earlier on August 23, with 603,328 students participating from 20,395 schools. WAEC noted a 5.99% rise in school candidate numbers. Kapi also addressed examination integrity, saying, “Candidates who infringed on the rules governing the conduct of the examination were appropriately sanctioned following investigations and the advice of the Council’s relevant committee.”

I'm the best man to reclaim power for NDC as flagbearer: Hon Namoale

Former Member of Parliament for La Dadekotopon Constituency Nii Amasah Namoale has reiterated his ambition of leading the opposition National Democratic Congress as flagbearer  for the 2020 elections.
The three time Member of Parliament believes he is the best bet for NDC in their resolve to reclaim power from the ruling New Patriotic Party.
Speaking on Happy FM‘s current affairs show “Epa Hoa Da Ben” hosted by Kwame Afrifa Mensah, Hon. Namoale asserted that nothing was going to stop him from contesting the flag bearer position of the NDC.
“My Presidential dream is still on course and I will definitely contest for the flag bearer of the NDC. I am the best man to reclaim power for the NDCand since we run a democratic system in the party, I am free to contest for the position, per our constitution. Some party supporters have been insulting me on Facebook because of my intention but nothing can stop me from contesting.” Hon. Namoale revealed.
He argued that his loss in last year’s parliamentary elections will have no negative impact on his dream of becoming president of the land.
“In 1998, I contested for the position of Assembly member in my area and I lost but I bounced back in 2004 to contest for MP in La Dadekotopon and I won the seat for three consecutive times so there is no correlation between my MP loss and my presidential dream. In fact when Donald Trump said he was going to run for the American Presidency, people said it was the joke of the century but he defied all odds to win the elections.” Hon Namoale added.
Epa Hoa Daben airs every weekday from 2pm to 5pm.
