The two sides played out a 1-1 draw in their final qualifier, which secured fourth place and a spot in Russia for Colombia.

Peru finished in fifth, edging out Chile on goal difference , and now face New Zealand over a two-legged play-off.
But there have been some claims over fixing because of the closing stages of the encounter.
It has been suggested that Peru took their foot off the gas following instructions from Monaco striker Falcao.

He was pictured speaking to a series of Peru players, seemingly telling them a draw would suit both nations.
And now midfielder Renato Tapia has fuelled conspiracy theories, admittingFalcao and his teammates DID discuss the match result with their opponents.
“We were focussed on the game and then in the final five minutes the Colombians approached us,” he told Panamericana Television.

“We were focussed on the game and then in the final five minutes the Colombians approached us,” he told Panamericana Television.
They knew the situations from the other grounds. The game was managed as it had to be managed.
“I spoke with Falcao and he said to me that we were both in, so there was happiness about that.”
The two sides played out a 1-1 draw which saw Colombia qualify for Russia and Peru reach the play-offs

A number of matches have been doubted in the past over convenient results including Denmark’s 2-2 draw with Sweden at Euro 2004, which saw both sides progress and Italy exit.
The Slovakian Prime Minister also accused Italy and Germany of match-fixing during this summer’s European Under-21 Championships.
