A member of the Board Directors of state-owned Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) has described the immediate past Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company Kwame Awuah- Darko, as one of the dumb CEOs that has ever managed the operations of the crude oil refinery company at Tema in the Greater Accra Region.
According to John Boadu, it is under the management of Awuah- Darko that gross profits were declared as profits in the history of the company.
He mice no words to say Mr. Awuah- Darko is an ‘ignoramus’ who has ever risen to the position of CEO in the history of the refinery.
He said since TOR was established nobody as dumb as Kwame Awuah- Darko has ever assumed the position as CEO except him.
For six years TOR was unable to refine one pint of crude under him leading the oil refinery company in the West African sub-region he revealed.
The National Organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Acting General Secretary gave this description of the former CEO of TOR and Bulk Oil Storage and Transport in reaction to the comments attributed to the ex-president John Dramani Mahama that cronyism have taken over the administration of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s president interacting Kwame Afrifa Mensah host of the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show on Accra-based Happy FM.
‘I can tell you as a Board member of TOR that since 2013 TOR was not able to refine single crude because of the dumb management practices of Awuah –Darko he said.
He said the business of the then CEO was to be declaring gross profit as profit when other miscellaneous pertaining to the management of the company has not been catered for.
This shows how competent the appointees of the ex-president were but because of cronyism they were made to stay at post he posited.
According to him, this accounted for why a single financial statement of TOR was not published since 2013.
Why would a company that is going well shy away from publishing its financial statements for the year ending he quizzes.
