Chairman ‘wontumi’ gets new title

The host of ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ the afternoon socio-political show on Accra-based Happy FM has conferred on the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) a new title in his political career.
According to Kwame Afrifa Mensah, Bernard Antwi-Boasiako known in the political circles as ‘Wontumi’ will now be known as the Governor- General of the Ashanti Region.
The title was conferred on him (Wontumi) for his ability to govern the political terrain of the NPP in the region as well choosing leaders for the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
This came to the fore when Chairman Wontumi interacted with the host last Friday November 10, on the show speaking to a number of issues ranging from the suit by his suspended General Secretary among others.
According to the Governor-General of the region, he will choose a regional chairman for the NDC next year.
‘I have already done that and the former regional secretary of the party in the region will emerge the winner of the NDC primary in the region next year.
Mark it anywhere, the former Deputy Minister for Sports in the late Prof. Mills administration Joseph  Yamin will win the  Ashanti Regional chairman’’ he revealed.
Even though Samuel Sarpong, the former Mayor of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly has shown interest but Joseph Yamin will win.
He however, pledged to come for the certificate of conferment anytime he was in Accra.
