The Deputy National Organizer of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joshua Akamba has descended heavily on the much- touted Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy being vigorously pursued by the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP)  and further describing it as ‘robbing Peter to pay Paul’.
He said as the first year students at the secondary schools have had their fees absorbed by the policy and the continue students have had their fees increased astronomically on the blind side of parents and guardians.
‘Now continue students are paying as much as one thousand Ghana Cedis and more as end of term fees so what is the government doing, is this not ‘robbing Peter to pay Paul’ he quizzes.
Mr, Akamba descended on the policy when he appeared as a panellist on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ soci-political show hosted  by Kwame Afrifa Mensah on Accra-based Happy FM.
According to him, the government has found a subtle way to siphon funds by ways of fees from the parents of the continuing students to make amends for the fees the year one students did not pay.
Now more of the parents of the continue students are crying over the amount of fees they have to dole for this term before their wards were admitted into the various secondary schools he said.
