The Organiser for Hearts of Oak supporters wing in the Ashanti Region, Abass Sulley has hit back at the club’s supporters who are accusing Togbe Afede XIV of failing to win laurels for the past years.
According to him, this is not the first time the club have a gone a season without a trophy.
Abass Sulley who spoke to Asempa FM on Thursday, 23rd, November, 2017, said that ” All the supporters who are blaming Togbe for the Misfortunes of the Club are not true fans.”
Sulley added that ”It is not the first time Hearts of Oak has gone off as a club. This has been happening over the years so I don’t know what the supporters expect Togbe to do. It took Hearts of Oak 90 years to win the CAF Champions League so what are they talking about.”
”In 2004 when Nii Ayi Bonte and the management board of Accra Hearts of Oak used the Pobiman land as collateral for a loan from the Agricultural Development Bank to support the club. That helped the Hearts to be crowned champions of the 2004 CAF Confederation,” he stated.
According to him, when Togbe took over the reign at Hearts in 2011, he made it a point to settle the debt and has that done.
The land Pobiman land was bought 17 years ago but nothing has been done on it since. The club’s officials have been criticised heavily for doing little to develop the land.
