The government of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is optimistic of further strengthening its bilateral relations with the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria by boosting cooperation in the field of trade.
It is hoping the bilateral relations in areas such as education, agriculture, energy transport, sports, communications and investment will also be boosted as part of the relationship; Alhaji Abubakar Saddique Boniface, the Minister for Inner-City and Zongo development made this call when he led the government’s delegation at the sixty-sixth anniversary celebrations of the Republic of Algeria in Accra.
The Minister who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Madina Constituency in the Greater Accra region was hopeful both countries would speed up the administrative processes in order for the two countries to achieve the benefits within the framework of the permanent joint Commission for cooperation on the continent.
In Algeria today; there is free and universal education up to the university   making education the bedrock of the socio-economic development of that country.
I am also proud to say that, Ghana in its quest to ensure the effective development and building an educated society for a speedy national development and progress has also launched and rolled out the ‘Free Senior High School programme’ in September this year to achieve this aim’.
He explained that the Government of Ghana appreciates the scholarships the government of Algeria has offered and continue to offer Ghanaian students over the years.
According to him, this compliments the country’s aspiration of building an educated population.
He maintained that through the process of revitalizing the economy of Algeria and Ghana will assume their role in the development of Africa to consolidate its economic, commercial, technological and scientific links with other countries on the continent.
I wish Algeria the very best in safeguarding and consolidating the gains of freedom and in the independence won over sixty years ago.
Earlier, the Algerian Ambassador to Ghana Mr. Youssef Delileche commended Ghana for its consistence in the democratic principles on the African continent.
