Supporters of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) are suffering under the not too well economic management of the president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo that they have resorted to begging from the elements of the National Democratic Congress to fend for themselves Koku Anyidoho has said.
According to the Deputy General Secretary of the party, the serial callers are reeling over the economic hardship visited on them by their own party that they have resorted to begging from their opponents.
The government has turned its own supporters into beggars because of the draconian economic policies rolled out by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta he said.
They are all over the NDC elements begging for ten Cedis among others to enable them fend for themselves after putting their shoulders to wheel to ensure victory for the party in 2016.
Mr. Anyidoho made this comment on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show hosted by Kwame Afrifa-Mensah on Accra-based Happy FM.
He said for the NPP members to be begging from the NDC indicate how Ghanaians are suffering under the NPP’s administration led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
On the impeachment of the Electoral Commission boss, he said the committee set up by the president is a baseless committee that will not live up to expectations.
According to him, what is the committee investigating because there is no evidence that Madam Charlotte Osei tempered with election results to warrant the set up of the committee.
He said the issue raise by the faceless petitioners are administrative issues and these are issues being handled  by the Economic and Organized Crime Office(EOCO).
He revealed that when NDC led by Prof Mills came to power in 2009 there was a petition filed by no less a person than Justtice Francis Kpegah, a Supreme Court Judge for the removal of the former Chief Justice Georgina Wood.
According to the petition, the former Chief Justice(CJ) gave a High Court Judge the powers to sit on an election case on a public holiday.
The said court was to prevent the Electoral Commission from announcing Prof Mills as the winner of the 2008 elections.
According to him, when the petition got to the late president he felt the decision to remove the CJ will heighten tensions in the country so, the decision was shelved.
The late president used common sense approach in the matter so, president Nana Addo should have also used the common sense approach in the matter of the impeachment of the EC boss.
