Tourism ministry to unveil 'tourism television'

The ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts has hinted that it will establish a tourism television to showcase and promote the cultural heritage of the country.
Akwasi Agyemang, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) gave this hint in an interview with Kwame Afrifa-Mensah host of the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show on Accra-based Happy FM after sector Minister Catherine Afeku met with the press in Accra.
He said the television station will the promotion of the works of all Ghanaian artistes irrespective his or her political colour.
He said the ministry is in talks with some private partners to establish the television station to enable artistes earn royalties on their intellectual property.
He said this end the era where the works of artistes are taken for granted.
He said this will go a long way to correct the long held notion that Ghanaian artistes do not benefit from their intellectual property.
He said the television station will not only help in the payment of royalties  to artistes but promote the cultural heritage of the country as well.
He said the television station will be dedicated to the promotion of Ghanaian cultural heritage among others.
He took the opportunity to call on all sundry to support the ministry’s in its quest in making the creative industry create jobs for the teeming unemployed youth.
