Ace radio presenter Kwabena Bobie-Ansah has revealed that party fanatics and extremists in the various political parties issue threats on the life of journalists to survive.
According to him, the extremists in the parties take to this act when journalists raise critical questions about their government and individuals in their party.
He said these extremists involved in such acts are engaged in this as a business on social media and on live radio.
He explained that these people issue the threats on the life of journalists when they raise critical issues about governance.
He noted that these militants do this to enable them source funds from the individuals involved for their survival in the party.
‘People go collect fat envelopes for going about issuing threats on the lives of innocent journalists in the country when raise issues about certain individuals’ he said.
Kwabena Bobie-Ansah made this comment when he shared his experience with Kwame Afrifa-Mensah on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show on Accra-based Happy FM.
It is a business in some political parties for survival in the country adding that these people mounts radio stations to openly insult innocent journalists.
He was hopeful the likes of journalists like Kwakye Nuamah- Afreh of TV3 will take a cue from what happened to some of ‘us when good people like him kept quiet.’
If one feels a journalist has tarnish his or her name they should go to court and not employ people to attack the journalist for doing his or her job he maintained.
